The way you love your kids, parents, pets, friends?
You know that kind of love where you accept them as they are when they do something they consider bad you are there to comfort and support them without judgment? The kind of love where you are always their best friend and supporter?
I must admit I have to yet meet a person who could answer yes to all those questions. Life on Earth is challenging and we are here to learn and evolve. Learn how to love others and even more importantly how to love ourselves.
We all experience pain because it is the biggest motivator for change. Usually, we need to experience a big amount of it before we decide to lift our butt from the couch and do something about it. Before we decide to change the channel on TV we call life. Pain here on Earth is inevitable, but suffering is optional.
How would you know how much you love yourself? Well, take a deep, honest look into your life. Because our reality always is a mere reflection of our inner world.
Are you healthy? On the physical, emotional and mental level?
Do you have enough money and all the things that you need and want? Are you surrounded by loving family members, friends and colleagues? Do you feel fulfilled and appreciated in your job or business?
Do you feel calm and good about yourself most of the time?
Those are some of the indicators that you are in love with yourself. This has nothing to do with egotistical, selfish, me-me-me kind of love. This is a kind of love and inner peace that oozes out of you and attracts kind people and beneficial situations into your life. The more we love ourselves and we have inner peace the more compassion and love we have for others. We got to love ourselves first! There is no way around it.
When you see an angry, bitter, mean person send her or him an angel in your thoughts. This person is suffering in her own, self-created hell. If she is angry outwards just imagine what a storm must be going on in her head and her heart. Send her love and compassion. Love is the only antidote to suffering.
